Proverbs 1:29 - The Danger of Rejecting God's Wisdom

Image
The Danger of Rejecting God's Wisdom Proverbs 1:29 (KJV) says: "For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the Lord:" This verse highlights the consequences of rejecting wisdom and refusing to fear the Lord. It serves as a warning about the dangers of ignoring God's guidance. 1. Hating Knowledge – This does not mean just ignorance but an active rejection of wisdom. Many people resist correction and choose to follow their own desires rather than God's truth. Ignorance means lacking knowledge, often due to a lack of exposure or understanding. Proverbs 2:12 - Wisdom that rescues from evil

Wisdom That Rescues from Evil   Proverbs 2:12 (NIV): "Wisdom will save you from the ways of wicked men, from men whose words are perverse," This verse is part of a longer section in Proverbs 2 where Solomon explains the benefits of seeking wisdom. Here, the focus is on one of the key purposes of godly wisdom : protection . "To deliver thee" – Wisdom acts like a shield, protecting the believer from danger. "The way of the evil man" – This refers to a path or lifestyle that is sinful, deceitful, and against God's ways. "That speaketh froward things" – "Froward" means perverse , twisted , or rebellious . The evil man uses words that deceive, corrupt, or lead others astray. So, when God fills you with wisdom, you gain discernment— the ability to know right from wrong , and the courage to say “no” to what is evil. We live in a world full of voices—some honest, some not. Without godly wisdom, it's easy to get pulled into ...

Proverbs 2:10 - A Heart Transformed by Wisdom

Image
A Heart Transformed by Wisdom Proverbs 2:10 (KJV) "When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul;"  This verse is part of a passage that describes the blessings of seeking godly wisdom. "When wisdom entereth into thine heart" – True wisdom is not just knowing facts or making good decisions. It’s when godly insight becomes part of your inner being —when it shapes your desires, thoughts, and character. "And knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul" – This refers to spiritual understanding that brings joy and satisfaction. It means you're not just learning for the sake of it; you're delighting in the things of God. This verse paints a picture of someone whose heart is changed by wisdom. It's no longer a struggle to do right—wisdom becomes welcome and even enjoyable . When God’s wisdom enters your heart, everything changes. Life’s confusion starts to clear. You begin to see the world differently—through ...
