Proverbs 4:5 – Get Wisdom and Understanding
The Importance of Seeking Wisdom
Proverbs 4:5 gives us a clear and urgent instruction: “Get wisdom, get understanding.” Wisdom is one of the central themes of the book of Proverbs, and this verse reminds us that gaining godly wisdom should be a priority in our lives.

The verse concludes:
“Neither decline from the words of my mouth.”
This is a call to remain faithful to wise instruction. We should not turn away from God's truth simply because another path appears easier or more attractive.
There will always be voices competing for our attention. Proverbs encourages us to stay firmly rooted in godly wisdom and not allow worldly thinking to pull us away from God's ways.
