The Wisdom and Knowledge of Our Creator After declaring that the Lord founded the earth by wisdom and established the heavens by understanding, Proverbs 3:20 continues by revealing how God's knowledge actively sustains His creation. Every part of nature operates according to His perfect design and sovereign power. The verse says, "By his knowledge the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew." In Solomon's day, the springs that supplied water and the dew that refreshed the land were seen as clear evidence of God's provision. Holding Firmly to God's Wisdom Throughout the book of Proverbs, wisdom is presented as one of God's greatest gifts to His people. Proverbs 3:18 paints a beautiful picture by comparing wisdom to "a tree of life." This image reminds us of life, nourishment, strength, and continual blessing. In the Garden of Eden, the Tree of Life symbolized life in God's presence. Here, Solomon uses this imagery to show that those who embrace God's wisdom experience a rich and fruitful life. While this does not promise a life free from difficulties, it does promise the joy and strength that come from walking closely with the Lord. The imagery of barns filled with plenty and presses overflowing with new wine symbolized prosperity and God's abundant blessings in the agricultural society of ancient Israel. Full barns meant food for the family, while overflowing winepresses represented a fruitful harvest and joyful celebration. This verse teaches an important spiritual truth: God is our Provider. Our time, talents, finances, and resources are gifts from Him. Proverbs 3:9 reminds us that one of the greatest ways to express our love and gratitude is by honoring the Lord with what He has entrusted to us. Psalm 138 is one of the most encouraging Psalms.  It is written by David.  He is a man after God's own heart.   David is praising God for answering his prayers.   This Psalm is filled with some amazing truths. In this Psalm, verse 3 is my favorite one.  Psalm 138:3 - “In the day when I cried out, You answered me, And made me bold with strength in my soul.” This Psalm is not only encouraging.  It is also inspiring.  It speaks of whole hearted praise for God, worship of His holiness, God's loving kindness and truth, the power of God's word, God's ways, and so much more.   This verse highlights two blessings that came when he cried out to the Lord: 1.  “In the day when I cried out, You answered me” David acknowledges that God heard and responded to his prayer.
