  Stay in God’s light—don’t trade the right path for the darkness of sin Proverbs 2:13 (KJV) says: “Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness.” “Paths of uprightness” → refers to living a good, moral, and righteous life according to God’s wisdom. “Leave” → means a deliberate choice to turn away from what is right. “Ways of darkness” → represents sin, evil, dishonesty, and a life without God’s truth. In context, Proverbs 2 is teaching about the value of wisdom. Verse 13 warns that some people reject wisdom and righteousness, choosing instead to live in sin. They prefer darkness (evil) over light (truth). In simple words: This verse describes those who abandon what is right and choose to live in sin and wickedness.
