Proverbs 3:34 – God Gives Grace to the Humble
Proverbs 3:34 Surely he scorneth the scorners: but he giveth grace unto the lowly. The Blessing of Humility Proverbs 3:34 teaches us an important lesson about pride and humility . God does not look at people according to worldly status, wealth, or achievements. He looks at the heart. The verse begins, "Surely he scorneth the scorners." A scorner is someone who treats others or God's wisdom with contempt, arrogance, or disrespect. A proud heart refuses correction and believes it does not need guidance. Scripture repeatedly warns us about the dangers of such an attitude. Pride can prevent us from recognizing our mistakes. It can make us unwilling to listen, apologize, learn, or accept correction.
