Proverbs 4:10 - Listen and Receive Wisdom

Proverbs 4:10

Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of thy life shall be many.


Proverbs 4:10 is a loving instruction from a father to his son. It encourages us to listen carefully, receive wise instruction, and allow God's truth to guide our lives. The verse also points to the blessing that comes from walking in wisdom.

Listen and Receive Wisdom

Wisdom Leads to a Blessed Life

The verse says, “and the years of thy life shall be many.” This reminds us that wisdom has practical value. Following God's ways protects us from many destructive choices and teaches us to live with discipline, righteousness, and understanding.

This does not mean that every person who follows God will necessarily live to an old age. Rather, Proverbs emphasizes the life-giving benefits of walking in God's wisdom.
