January 7, 2026 - New Mercies Every Morning – Meditation on Lamentations 3:22–23
New Mercies Every Morning
Because Of The Lord 'S Great Love We Are Not Consumed, For His Compassions Never Fail.
They Are New Every Morning; Great Is Your Faithfulness.
Lamentations 3:22–23 is one of the most hope-filled passages in the Bible, yet it was written in a time of deep sorrow. The prophet Jeremiah looked around at a broken city, a hurting people, and a future that seemed uncertain. But in the middle of the pain, one truth steadied his heart: God’s love had not abandoned them.
This passage reminds us that it is not our strength that sustains us—it is God’s unfailing love. We are not consumed by our struggles, mistakes, or weaknesses because His compassion stands between us and despair. His mercy is not limited, not exhausted, and not dependent on our perfection.
Today, rest in this truth: God’s love is deeper than your failures, stronger than your fears, and greater than the challenges you face. His mercies are enough for today—and tomorrow, He will give you new ones again.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for Your endless love and fresh mercies every morning. Strengthen my heart to trust Your faithfulness, lean on Your compassion, and walk in the grace You freely give each day. Amen.
