Isaiah 43:18,19

"Forget The Former Things; Do Not Dwell On The Past. 

See, I Am Doing A New Thing! Now It Springs Up; Do You Not Perceive It? I Am Making A Way In The Desert And Streams In The Wasteland.


    Isaiah 43:18–19 is a powerful call from God to release the weight of the past and look forward to the new work He is doing. The Israelites had experienced failure, rebellion, captivity, and disappointment. Yet God tells them not to stay stuck in what was. He invites them to lift their eyes and see the fresh path He is preparing.

    God knows how easily our past mistakes, hurts, and losses can hold us back. But His message is clear: You don’t live there anymore. He is not limited by what happened before. He specializes in bringing life to barren places and hope to impossible situations.

    When God says, “I am doing a new thing,” it means growth, restoration, healing, and change are already in motion—even if we cannot fully see it yet. Like a spring bubbling up from dry ground, God’s new work begins quietly and then becomes unmistakable.

    He promises to make a way in the desert—a path where there seems to be none. He promises streams in the wasteland—refreshing provision in the dry areas of your life. Whatever feels empty or broken, God can transform it.

    Today, choose to trust that God is working in your life right now. Let go of the former things and embrace the new season He is leading you into. The One who makes rivers flow in wastelands can breathe hope into your future.

Prayer

Lord, help me release the past and open my heart to the new thing You are doing in my life. Make a way in the dry places, refresh me with Your presence, and guide me into the future You have prepared. Amen.
