Psalm 4 - What does it tell us?
PSALM 4 “Peace in the Night: Trusting God Through Psalm 4” A Psalm of David Psalm 4 is an evening prayer of trust. David speaks to God, to his enemies, and to his own heart. Psalm 4:1 “Answer me when I call to you, my righteous God…” David begins with prayer. He calls God “righteous” — meaning God always does what is right. He remembers past deliverance: “You gave me relief when I was in distress.” Faith grows when we remember how God helped us before. Psalm 4:2 “How long will you people turn my glory into shame?” David now speaks to his enemies. They are attacking his honor and position. They love “delusions” and “false gods.” When people reject truth, they chase emptiness. Psalm 4:3 “Know that the Lord has set apart his faithful servant for himself…” David reminds them: God chooses and protects His faithful ones. “The Lord hears when I call.” Confidence comes from knowing you belong to God.
