The Cry for Wisdom: A Heart That Seeks Understanding 

Proverbs 2:3 (KJV) 

"Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding;"

1.  Desperation for Wisdom

The verse emphasizes an active pursuit of wisdom. The phrase "crieth after knowledge" suggests a deep hunger, not just a passive interest. It implies that true wisdom is not gained casually but must be sought earnestly, like someone crying out in distress.
