Proverbs:1:4

Proverbs 1:4 Says:

"To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion."

This verse highlights the purpose of wisdom—guiding those who lack experience and understanding.

1.     Wisdom for the Simple – "Simple" refers to those who are inexperienced or easily influenced. God's wisdom provides discernment to help them navigate life righteously.

2.     Knowledge for the Young – The verse emphasizes teaching young people the right way to live, equipping them with spiritual and moral understanding.   By seeking knowledge, a person can grow in understanding and avoid being easily misled.

3.     Discretion and Prudence – Discretion helps in making wise choices, avoiding sinful traps, and living according to God’s will.

In short, this verse teaches that God's wisdom brings clarity, helps believers grow spiritually, and protects them from deception.  This verse highlights the importance of wisdom in shaping good character and decision-making, especially for young and inexperienced individuals.
