Proverbs:1:5

Proverbs 1:5 Says:

"A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels."


This verse highlights the importance of wisdom and continual learning in a believer’s life.

1.     Listening with Humility – A wise person does not assume they know everything but remains open to learning.  Also, he is ready to hear and learn more.   This teaches us the importance of being humble before God and His Word.

2.     Growth in Wisdom – True wisdom is not static; it grows. Those who listen to God’s instructions, through His Word and godly counsel, will continue to mature spiritually.

3.     Seeking Godly Counsel – A person of understanding values advice from righteous individuals, such as spiritual mentors, pastors, or elders in the faith. This emphasizes the need for fellowship and guidance in our Christian walk.

4.     Application in Christian Life – This verse encourages believers to actively seek and apply God’s wisdom in their daily lives, leading to spiritual growth, discernment, and stronger faith.

Spiritual wisdom is a lifelong pursuit. A true believer listens, learns, and seeks godly counsel to walk in righteousness.
