Proverbs : 1: 7

Proverbs 1:7 says:

"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction."

This verse teaches that true wisdom comes from God, and those who reject His guidance lack real understanding.

"The fear of the Lord" – This means deep reverence, respect, and awe for God. It is not just being afraid, but having a heart that honors and submits to Him.

"Is the beginning of knowledge" – True wisdom and understanding start with recognizing God's authority and seeking His guidance. Without this foundation, knowledge is incomplete.

"But fools despise wisdom and instruction" – Those who reject God's wisdom and refuse correction are considered foolish. They ignore the truth and prefer their own ways.

This verse highlights that true wisdom starts with reverence for God. It teaches that those who respect and obey God gain real knowledge, while those who reject wisdom and guidance are considered foolish. It encourages a humble and teachable attitude toward learning and growth.
