Spirit of God - In the beginning & end of bible

The Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Genesis 1:2

And the Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" And let him who hears say, "Come!"

Revelation 22:17

The Holy Spirit is a divine Person and is engaged in all the activities and purposes of the Godhead equally with the Father and the Son. The Holy Spirit has also taken a place of intimate association with all those who have been redeemed by the blood of Christ. These two features of the Holy Spirit can be seen on the first page and on the last page of the Bible.

On the first page of the Bible we see the Spirit hovering over the waters. The word "hovering" is actually the same word used to describe a mother eagle when she is hovering over her young as they learn to fly

(Deuteronomy 32:11). The Holy Spirit is seen moving in vital creative power over the face of the world. The work of creation was declared "good." But man, who was created in the image of God, and was the pinnacle of that creation, listened to the voice of the deceiver. The universe was then plunged into disorder and "death reigned."

The Spirit is no longer hovering over the earth, but since the death and resurrection of Christ He has been indwelling the redeemed on the earth (John 14:17). Hence on the last page of the Bible we view an altogether different scene than in creation. We see the Spirit in very close association with the Bride. Both are in complete harmony as they call for the Bridegroom to come!

The last page also tells us that the old world is about to pass away and a restored world, the "age to come" followed by a New Heaven and Earth, is about to appear! Meanwhile, the Spirit and the Bride are calling for thirsty sinners to come and drink of the water of life. Thus, the church (the body of believers) that longs for Christ's coming seeks wholeheartedly the salvation of sinners in full communion with God the Holy Spirit.
